Café Conversations: Dr. Carol Maraj at Pop’s Place
Two mothers connected to hip hop history come together for a conversation in Brooklyn. Join Audrey “Mah Smoke” Jackson, mother of Pop Smoke, as she welcomes Dr. Carol Maraj, mother of Nicki Minaj, to Pop’s Place.
Dr. Maraj will share the story behind her book, Bruised But Not Broken, a memoir about surviving domestic violence, reclaiming her voice, and finding strength beyond what she endured.
Café Conversations comes from Mah Smoke's heart and her desire to create a sacred space where our community can showcase and celebrate its own voices. This evening with Dr. Maraj begins a series she hopes will welcome more local authors, playwrights, and storytellers to Pop’s Place.
